HD Hyundai XiteSolution, the intermediate holding company of HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Co., Ltd., helps prevent fires in the community by replacing fire hydrants in traditional markets in Ulsan.
HD Hyundai XiteSolution disclosed that it held a plaque ceremony in the morning of the 6th (Wednesday) to donate emergency fire hydrants with the Ulsan Dongbu Fire Station at Wolbong Market in Dong-gu, Ulsan and had a fire suppression demonstration using them.
The ceremony was attended by Lee Won-geun, head of the Dongbu Fire Station, Park Chan-hyuk, vice president of HD Hyundai XiteSolution, and officials from the Hwajeong-dong Volunteer Fire Department, with two merchants participating in the virtual fire suppression demonstration and confirming the performance of the new easy-to-use hose reel-type fire hydrant.
The structure of the traditional market makes it difficult for fire trucks to enter, so fire hydrants are essential for early fire suppression. However, existing facility boxes are not easy to find, and fire hoses are heavy enough to require at least two healthy adults; thus making them difficult for elderly merchants to use.

Accordingly, HD Hyundai XiteSolution joined forces with related organizations such as the Dongbu Fire Department, Korean Red Cross, and Ulsan-si at the end of last year to launch a social contribution project to prevent local fires, and replaced the existing fire hydrants at Wolbong Market and Nammok Maseong Market with hose reel types in February.
HD Hyundai XiteSolution plans to continue engaging in public-private collaboration activities with the Dongbu Fire Department and the Traditional Market Merchants’ Association to prevent fires in the fire-vulnerable traditional markets.
“We hope that the new, easy-to-use fire hydrant will help protect the safety of citizens visiting traditional markets and the valuable property of merchants, and we will continue to participate actively in social contribution projects such as protecting local safety,” an official from HD Hyundai XiteSolution said.
